Classroom Technology Support

Printer-friendly versionThe topic of centralized versus decentralized IT models seems guaranteed to provoke heated discussion. The University of Oregon works has adopted a decentralized model, feeling that the recognized benefits of this approach outweigh the perceived shortcomings.

The Office of Academic Affairs believes that it can play a valuable role in campus IT by providing a central resource facilitating access to the decentralized IT infrastructure. This page, which should be viewed as a dynamic "work in progress," seeks to serve this role.

Please feel free to offer additions and suggestions for this page. Your input will help this resource grow more rapidly to reflect the full IT infrastructure of the University of Oregon. Note that the focus is on Instructional Technology, not the more inclusive alternative IT, Information Technology.

The UO's Instructional Technology Directory is designed to help instructors identify and locate academic support resources which fit their instructional and research needs. The IT Directory can be searched by service category, keyword or service provider name to access service descriptions, eligibility requirements and contact information.

The Office of Information Technology offers links to a number of Instructional Technology relevant sites, including Adaptive Technology, Blackboard resources, and Classroom Technology Services.
