NUTS AND BOLTS:

HOW TO GET WHAT YOU NEED

ID CARDS. You will need to take a copy of your contract or Personal Information Form (PIF) and your ID number (950-xxx-xxx) to the UO Card Office in the basement of the EMU. Your unit/department/program office can assist you with both kinds of required information: don't bother to go to Photo ID without it. You will also need to take with you conventional photo ID (driver's license or passport). Some useful information on your ID card can be found at the UO Card Office website.

DUCKWEB. Duckweb is the web-based site for managing individual faculty, employee, and personal information. To access DuckWeb you will need a PAC number. This is the password you received in order to access DuckWeb: it will come to you via a letter to your CAMPUS ADDRESS by the time of your first paycheck (maybe sooner). If you do not receive a PAC number by the time that first check has arrived, you should go to Human Resources with your photo ID and they will assist you in getting one.

E-MAIL. After you have acquired your photo ID (not before), you can acquire access to e-mail in one of two ways. One, take your PAC number [this is the password you received in order to access DuckWeb: it will come to you via a letter to your CAMPUS ADDRESS by the time of your first paycheck] to the HELP desk in 151 McKenzie Hall. This is faster. Two, take your photo ID to Connie French in 151C McKenzie Hall. This is slower.

KEYS: Authorization for appropriate and essential keys comes from your unit/department/program head. See the office manager for details on getting authorization and for the relevant key authorization forms. When these are completed and signed off, you will take them to Public Safety to get your keys (small deposit required on each key). Check out: The Deparmtne of Public Safety - Building Access Control

PARKING. Authorization for parking permits also originates with the unit/department/program you are part of. See your office manager for details on getting authorization and the relevant parking application. Some departments will submit this for you; most will have you walk them over to Public Safety. Details can be found here:  the Department of Public Safety - Parking Services and Transportation

TRANSPORTATION. The UO encourages everyone to use alternatives to car transportation. This includes bus service (free to UO employees), car pooling options, and excellent bicycle paths and services. For details, please see: the Department of Public Safety - Parking Services and Transportation.
