The VOTING SUMMARY documents the votes in the department
and those of the appropriate school or college personnel committee.
The term "Total Faculty" refers to the number of faculty eligible to
vote for the promotion being considered. Most departments have established
criteria restricting eligibility for cases involving promotion to associate
professor with tenure, to tenured faculty members only. In such departments,
the Total Faculty refers to the total number of tenured faculty members.
For departments which allow non-tenured faculty to vote, the form allows
for separation of votes from tenured and non-tenured faculty.
The form is to be stapled to the inside left-hand side
of each folder, beneath the CHECK LIST.
