Faculty Guide to Promotion
              and Tenure

A Faculty Guide to Promotion and Tenure
at the University of Oregon
1994

Acknowledgements

The first edition of the UO Survival Handbook on Tenure and Promotion was prepared by an ad hoc committee in 1989. The original version relied heavily upon a similar document written by Assistant Vice Chancellor, Carla R. Espinoza, of the University of California, Irvine.

This document represents a major revision of the original survival handbook. It has been revised extensively by Lorraine G. Davis, Vice Provost for Academic Affairs, so as to accurately represent the policies and procedures currently in effect at the University of Oregon. In this endeavor, Davis has been assisted by Betty Mohr and Jack M. Rice. Constructive reviews, comments and suggestions for improvement have been supplied by Nancie Fadeley, Patricia Gwartney-Gibbs, Duncan McDonald and Joe Stone.
