Initiation of NTTF promotion review for 2017-18 academic year

May 15, 2017

Dear Colleagues,

We are writing to remind the community of the process by which career NTTF must initiate consideration for promotion at the University of Oregon. Please distribute this message to career NTTF and unit heads/directors by no later than May 19, 2017.

Career NTTF who are eligible for promotion, and wish to be considered for promotion in the coming academic year (2017-18), must notify their department or unit head by June 15 (for 9-month employees) or June 30 (for 12-month employees). They must work with their budget manager to complete the appropriate “NTTF Eligibility Worksheet” available on the Academic Affairs website and include it with their promotion request. Department/unit heads are encouraged to discuss eligibility, timeline, and materials needed with their faculty.

More information on the career NTTF review and promotion process can be found on the Academic Affairs website.

After determining eligibility for faculty wishing to come up for promotion, please notify the Office of the Provost and Academic Affairs at srunberg@uoregon.edu with information on instructional career NTTF and the Office of the Vice President for Research and Innovation at bpevans@uoregon.edu with information on research career NTTF by July 15, 2017, so that planning efforts for the coming year can begin. Include the eligibility form for each candidate, name and ID number, and the promotion/rank they are seeking. Write in the subject heading, “NTTF Promotion – [faculty last name].”

Research faculty whose appointments do not readily translate to this form should contact Cassandra Moseley (cmoseley@uoregon.edu) for assistance.

As always, please do not hesitate to contact us if you have questions.
